Sports - Great Golf Tips For Beginners
Tips for Golf Beginners
If you have played golf a couple of times, you know how
addictive it can be. Golf is a great game, but it can be
complex. Here are some tips to get acquainted with the game of
golf as well as equipment that is needed when you first begin
playing golf on a regular basis.
You can spend thousands of dollars on golf equipment, but the
truth of the matter is if you are a beginner save your money
until you have mastered the basics and know enough about your
golf style to buy equipment properly. You don't need that much
to start. You can always rent clubs or you can buy decent clubs
that won't cost that much. A decent golf set can be had for less
than $400 and if you have a good pair of shoes for the course
that is all that is really needed. Later on as your game
improves you can hand pick each putter, woods and irons, but for
now just start off with a basic set that fits or
feels right.
You might want to take a few lessons to learn the basics. While
you probably have a friend or two that will be willing to show
you the right way to golf, professional instruction may be a
better choice. This way you're instructor can tell you the truth
about your game and not hide how bad your game is so he doesn't
upset you.
There are also lots of DVD videos that you can watch and books
to read on the theory of golf. So if you are starting out, check
out some of the above tips and enjoy the game of golf.
